All the news today revolves around Adrian Peterson's absence from the Vikings-Patriots game, but there still will be a game, and here are four Bold Predictions on what might happen.
MATT VENSEL: SHANE VEREEN WILL CATCH AT LEAST EIGHT PASSES

Rob Gronkowski is the NFL's best all-around tight end. But Patriots dual-threat back Shane Vereen, despite being nine inches shorter, might be an even bigger mismatch. Vereen, who averaged six catches per game for 53.4 yards last season, runs polished routes like a wide receiver and is fast enough to get vertical when lined up against a linebacker. He'll be a tough cover for Chad Greenway and Co. If the Patriots try to spread the Vikings out, Vereen could finish with double-digit catches.
MARK CRAIG: SLOW START WILL UNSETTLE VIKINGS, PROPEL PATRIOTS

The Patriots will win the coin toss, defer and put the pressure on a Vikings offense that's built around the one guy who isn't there, Adrian Peterson. Matt Asiata is an admirable grinder, but he's not a game-breaker, nor does his presence create opportunities for others. Matt Cassel will be forced to overcompensate, leading to a turnover that the Patriots turn into a 7-0 lead.
MASTER TESFATSION: RUDOLPH WILL SNAG TWO TOUCHDOWNS

Tight end Kyle Rudolph had just two catches last week. Well, expect two touchdown catches against the Patriots. Offensively, the Vikings will struggle to run the ball without Adrian Peterson and will be forced to rely on the pass more than they anticipated. Look for Rudolph to be move involved this week, and the 6-6 target should have a big game as a result.
CHRIS MILLER: TOM BRADY WILL BE SACKED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES

The Patriots quarterback was harassed by the Dolphins last week, and expect the Vikings to put together an interesting package that might include more blitzes than the dozen or so they threw at the Rams. If Brady gets time, he'll be dangerous. It says here he won't get time.
