A former girls' tennis coach convicted of having sex with a former player ran out of second chances Thursday.
Daniel Erik Hubbard Wilson, 28, of St. Paul, was ordered to serve six years in prison for violating terms of his probation by continuing to attempt to contact his victim.
Ramsey County District Judge Diane Alshouse ordered the sentence after Wilson once again disregarded a no-contact order with the girl. He had previously violated such orders numerous times.
Wilson, a former tennis coach at Visitation and Highland Park high schools, pleaded guilty Jan. 28 to third-degree criminal sexual conduct in the case.
He was charged last year for having sex with the girl when she was 15. He had met the girl while he was a coach at Visitation and later served as her private coach.
The initial criminal complaint filed in the case charged him with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, in addition to a third-degree count that said the sexual contact was consensual.
In April, he was sentenced to a year in the Ramsey County workhouse with credit for 137 days already served, and was placed on probation for 15 years.
If Wilson had complied with the terms of his probation, a sentence of six additional years in prison would have been stayed. He didn't.
