Former UFC champ Lesnar has surgery

Former UFC heavyweight champion and Gophers wrestler Brock Lesnar underwent surgery to address a digestive disorder.

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White told reporters in Las Vegas on Saturday night after the UFC 130 event that Lesnar's surgery was successful and that doctors removed part of his colon. White said he hopes to have Lesnar, 33, back in action around the beginning of 2012.

The Minnesota PGA team defeated the Minnesota Golf Association team 27.5-12.5 in the 35th MGA/PGA Cup Matches -- a Ryder Cup-style event pitting the state's top amateur golfers against the top professionals -- at Windsong Farm in Independence. The Minnesota PGA leads the overall series 26-7-2.
