Former St. Paul Companies exec buys actress Lange's house

The Stillwater estate that Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard called home for so many years was purchased by Patrick and Jane Thiele, according to the Washington County officials. Patrick Thiele is president and CEO of PartnerRe Ltd. and a former executive for the St. Paul Companies. PartnerRe Ltd. is a reinsurance company based in Bermuda. The Thieles purchased the 1892 Victorian home in September for $1.825 million. Actress Lange and playwright Shepard had originally listed the house at $3.3 million four years ago. It was taken off the market in 2007 and relisted during the summer. The house, located at 903 4th St. N., was a former bed and breakfast and sits on 2.5 acres of land.
