Gov. Mark Dayton is planning on interviewing former Rep. Loren Solberg and Judge Beverly Jones Heydinger on Tuesday to replace ousted Public Utilities Commission Chair Ellen Anderson.
The Republican controlled Senate voted not to confirm Anderson, a former Democratic Senator in January.
Dayton chose to leave the permanent position unfilled since then.
The governor will interview Solberg and Heydinger, the only finalists for the job, on Wednesday, according to the governor's office.
Solberg is a Bovey DFLer who served in the House from 1983 to 2010 and lost re-election two years ago by just under 2.5 percentage points. Heydinger was appointed an Administrative Law Judge in 1999 and Deputy Attorney General from 1991 to 1998.
