As the Vikings' fortunes go, so goes the price of its fan apparel. OK, it's too soon to call it a losing season, but if the losses keep mounting, watch for overstock deals at discounters and hope that the ship will right itself next season.

Currently, DealSmart in Moundsview (Moundsview Square, 2553 NE. Hwy. 10, 763-717-2967) and Little Canada (Market Place Center, 2900 Rice St., Little Canada, 651-287-7899) is offering deals on men's T-shirts ($5), long-sleeve Ts ($9), and sweatshirts ($13). While Target has a men's purple hooded sweatshirt on sale for $32 through Saturday, DealSmart's hooded sweatshirt is $15. Most are gray with purple lettering in large and extra-large sizes.

If you know of other surplus stores and discounters other than Target or Wal-Mart selling Vikings merch, please chime in. I checked with Discount 70 in Columbia Heights andBrand Name Deals in Fridley. Both are good resources for closeouts but do not currently have any in stock.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
