Defensive end Everson Griffen was free from the Vikings' injury reports since pushing through plantar fasciitis in his left foot up until the week of the Nov. 23 win in Detroit.

That's at least the last time Griffen's name was on an injury report until Thursday, when he was limited in Vikings practice and again listed with a foot injury.

Griffen, tied for fourth in the NFL with a career-high 13 sacks this season, missed one game in November due to plantar fasciitis suffered Oct. 29 against the Browns.

Only one player, cornerback Terence Newman, did not practice Thursday after being limited the day before. Newman is also dealing with a foot injury. He's fifth in the Vikings secondary with 560 snaps [56.1%] this season.

Slot cornerback Mackensie Alexander would most likely see an increased role in Sunday's NFC Divisional playoff against the Saints if Newman is limited or held out.

Defensive tackle Shamar Stephen (ankle) was also limited on Thursday.
