Foo Fighters get giddy about garages / Associated Press photo

The Foo Fighters have issued a raincheck (actually a snowcheck) for today's scheduled concert in a fan's garage in the Twin Cities. The veteran rockers are doing an eight-city tour of fans' garages -- chosen via a contest at the band's website -- to celebrate their new "Wasting Light" album that was literally recorded in frontman Dave Grohl's garage. The band played a Chicago area garage on Tuesday as scheduled, but since two of the band members are sick and they saw the snow forecast for the Twin Cities, these wimpy Californians pulled the plug on their Twin Cities garage gig today. The Foo Fighters plan to reschedule the garage appearance at a later date. But don't expect a big announcement; these late-afternoon shows are very private (for invited guests only) with a phalanx of police to keep away people who are not on the approved guest list. By the by, the Foos did play the previous four cities on their garage tour. Their next scheduled garage gig is Monday in Denver.
