Tom Helgeson, Midwest Fly Fishing Magazine, gathered a group of his seasoned fly fishing anglers to mentor a group of women, who are passionate about this growing sport. This second annual gathering in Wisconsin was a successful event.

We met at the end of May to start the season with a one to one mentoring. We were divided into different groups, depending on the skill level of each member of the group. Some of us who wanted to get an early start met early and carpooled to a selected area to get our lines wet. We were able to wrap up in time to meet the rest of the group to set up a picnic lunch, a little Q&A, and breakout into our groups.

I was privileged enough to be paired up with William (Bill) Shogren, who has co-authored a couple books with Jim Humphrey. His books - Wisconsin Minnesota Trout Streams A Fly-Anglers Guide and Trout Streams of Wisconsin and Minnesota. He has also penned articles in Tom Helgeson's Midwest Fly Fishing Magazine. He has invited me to try for some crappies and sunnies at his favorite fishing hole. Work has taken up much of my time; but I plan to take him up on it. This would a great way to practice on my fly fishing skills - casting and reeling in a catch ....not to mentioned great 'fish fry'.
More to come on fly fishing. Will be heading to Colorado to test my skills and see if I can catch some 'lunker browns'!

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
