The coolest weather of the season so far will overspread Florida early thisweek as cold air pours out of the Midwest and deep into the South.Monday, high temperatures will go no higher than the 60s in Miami and thesouthern half of the peninsula.

Tampa, Orlando and other northern areas will top out mostly in the 50s.

Throughout the state, fresh breezes will make it feel even cooler.

Monday night, the wintry chill will rival records in some cities astemperatures near freezing as far south as central Florida. Orlando, forinstance, may see its record low of 34 F broken.

Indeed, the next two to three nights will be cold enough for frost into partsof the Florida citrus belt. At this time, indications are that any damage tothe citrus crop would be minor and localized.
