Frost and freeze will target Florida agriculture, as well as residents andvacationers early in the week.Biting northerly winds already sweeping southward over the state on Sunday willset up a widespread frost and freeze as far south as Lake Okeechobee and theIndian River by of daybreak, Monday.

The chilly flow will hang right through Monday, thereby setting up central andeven South Florida for more frost and freeze Monday night. By daybreak Tuesday, temperatures down to freezing will be reached as far south as theEverglades.

Most susceptible to the cold will be winter vegetables and fruits such asstrawberries.

But even the more hardy citrus crop, at the heart of a roughly billion-dollarindustry, could suffer losses if temperatures were to hold below 28 F for atleast two hours.

Moderation in temperature will begin in earnest at midweek.
