April 3, 2009 at 7:30PM

Tropical rain slowing organizing over the western Indian Ocean near theisland of Agalega may betide formation of a tropical weather system havingpotential for serious impacts within the next few days. The area of disturbed weather will shift slowly southeastward through atleast Sunday, leading to outbreaks of heavy, potentially flooding rain overeastern Madagascar. Local heavy rain may also erupt over the Mascarene Islandsof Mauritius and Reunion.

Slow consolidation into a tropical depression and even a tropical cyclonemay begin as well. Thus, a tropical cyclone having potential to threaten eitherMadagascar or the Mascarene Islands early next week cannot be ruled out.
