April 3, 2009 at 5:30PM

Tropical rains slowing organizing over the western Indian Ocean near theisland of Agalega may betide formation of a tropical weather system havingpotential for serious impact within the next few days. The area of rain will shift slowly southeastward through at least Sundayleading to outbreaks of heavy, potentially flooding, rains over easternMadagascar. Local heavy rain may also erupt over the Mascarene Islands ofMauritius and Reunion.

Slow consolidation into a tropical depression and even a tropical cyclonemay begin as well. Thus, a tropical cyclone having the potential to threateneither Madagascar or the Mascarene Islands early next week cannot be ruled out.
