The threat of excessive rain and flooding will persist over northeasternAustralia due to Tropical Cyclone Olga. The system came back to life laterTuesday over the Gulf of Carpentaria.Over the next few days, Olga will drift towards the south and southeast overthe state of Queensland.

Rain heavy enough to spark flooding will break out in disparate areas fromnorthwest Queensland to the state's lengthy east coast and eastern mountainsslopes. Excessive rain could threaten life and personal property as well asagriculture output.

The heavy rain threat could translate farther south in eastern Australia by theend of the week.
