Flooding, Blizzard Condtions in Japan Monday and Tuesday.

A major storm will bring damaging winds, flooding, and blizzard conditions toJapan Monday and Tuesday.Winds to 60 mph will affect most of Japan. Heavy rain will lead to localizedflooding. Across northern Honshu and Hokkaido, it will be cold enough for snow.

One to two feet of snow will fall. Winds to 60 mph will create blizzardconditions.

Heavy snow affected Hokkaido over the weekend. Fifteen inches of snow fell inWakkanai on Sunday, brining the snow depth to 3 feet.

Major disruptions including travel delays, power outages, and possibly evenairport closures are expected.
