Flash Flooding Threatens Middle East

Heavy rainfall and strong storms will develop over the Middle East Thursdayand Friday as a strong piece of energy pushes through the region. This system,currently over Africa, will move northward through Wednesday night andstrengthen over south-central Saudi Arabia Thursday. Through Friday night, thestorms will move into southern Iran.Drenching rainfall will create flash flooding across the region. Also,strong thunderstorms contained within the system could create gusty winds. Mostof these areas will begin to dry out again for the weekend.
