FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT KEVIN STEFANSKI

• A Philadelphia native, Stefanski played defensive back at Penn from 2000 to '04. He played on teams that compiled a 42-7 record during those seasons and was Defensive Rookie of the Year as a freshman.

• His father, Ed, played basketball at Penn and is a long-time NBA executive, currently with the Detroit Pistons.

• He came to the Vikings in 2006 as assistant to head coach Brad Childress, whom he met the previous year during an internship with the Philadelphia Eagles.

• After three years in that job, Stefanski was assistant quarterbacks coach (2009-13), tight ends coach (2014-15), running backs coach (2016) and quarterback coach (2017 until now.)

• Following last season, when the New York Giants hired former Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur as coach, the Vikings refused to let the Giants interview Stefanski for a job.
