These five could be candidates to be the next Twins manager:

Paul Molitor: A native Minnesotan and Hall of Famer, he's never managed. He was a Twins coach in 2014 and before that a minor league instructor.

Doug Mientkiewicz: Ex-Twin who has been a winner at Class A Fort Myers, and GM Terry Ryan said he's willing to promote a young minor league skipper.

Torey Lovullo: The Red Sox bench coach will show up on everybody's candidate list. He spent nine seasons as a minor league manager.

Joe McEwing: The White Sox third base coach has ties with Brian Dozier from their work together in Arizona Fall League.

Dave Martinez: He's well-prepared, having served as been bench coach for highly respected Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon since 2007.
