Hunting has started, but that doesn't mean fishing has stopped!

As I write this, the water temps are in the 66 to 69 degree range. Unreal for October! Fall fishing this year is fun, comfortable and breath taking when you take it all in.

Here's some fall fishing tips that will help bring in the big one:

* Walleye presentations vary as fish are in transition. A Lindy Rig set up using a 4 inch snell and a minnow is great this time of year. Depths range 15 to 30 feet of water along sharp breaks off sunken islands and shoreline breaks on Otter Tail Lake.

* Jigs are also a great presentation and don't be afraid to go shallow with these.

* Minnows to use are Redtails, Rainbows, Suckers or Fatheads.

* Panfish start moving deeper as weed growth dies off so you have to follow them out in deeper water.

* A 1/32 oz. jig tipped with a wax worm and a slip bobber are a great choice.

* As fall progresses and water cools down, fish will move to deeper water.

One thing to remember with deep water fish (example 50+ feet), these fish will not survive when thrown back, so we encourage you to keep what you catch in deeper water.

Happy fishing and give us a call at Ken's Tackle, 218-495-2895 for the latest!
