"After almost canceling my annual trip to the BWCA due to the late ice-out, I caught this fish while canoeing near some rapids using an ultralight rod and reel, a No. 4 Mepps spinner, 10-inch steel leader, and 6-pound test line. I fought the fish for over 15 minutes before it tired enough to land it. Luckily we were near a portage where it was photographed and released. Definitely the biggest fish I have ever caught in fresh water. Credit must be given to Trent and Alan Rezabek, (my brother-in-law and father-in-law), who I have been traveling with to the BWCA for more than 12 years.''
