Bow hunters investing in new archery equipment this fall to chase deer should consider keeping their old gear to re-rig for bowfishing next spring. Actually, bowfishing occurs year-round. But best is in April and May. Inexpensive kits are available to convert standard bows for bowfishing, a great form of "fishing'' that has the side benefit of eliminating common carp and other rough fish from state waters.
