It was just a small club tournament (Gopher Bassmasters) this past Sunday on Pool 2, but fun none the less. My first big tournament will be on May 30th on Pool 4.

My partner John Haynes and I found the bite to be slow to start but pretty steady through out the day. I believe all our weigh fish came on either 3/8oz Tru-Tungsten jigs or Texas rigged tubes or creature baits rigged with Tungsten Worm sinkers and Youvella hooks.

Most of fish came from cuts off the main river or farther back into some of the larger back water areas like Moores&Grey Cloud. I ended up catching 12 keeper bass and John has 9, my best 5 measured out at 14.99lbs for 3rd place and John had almost 11lbs.

This spring has been my first introduction to Pool 2 fishing, I have been quite pleased with the available water as well as the catching it has offered. I intend to make this a more frequent fishing stop!

At the same time, I am excited to have about 10,000 more options to start fishing bass this coming Saturday!
