FIREFLY FACTS

• Consist of about 2,000 species on every continent except Antarctica.

• Light flashes are used by males to attract mates, also to signal danger.

• Some species synchronize their flashes and their colors range from yellow to green to orange.

• Fireflies can live up to two years but only spend one to three weeks as adults.
