WAUSAU, Wis. — A fired Wisconsin probation agent accused of stealing prescription drugs from clients she supervised has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Kim Hoenisch (HAY'-nish) also will spend 7 ½ years on extended supervision.

WSAW-TV reports Taylor County Judge Ann Knox-Bauer agreed to the state's recommendations in sentencing Hoenisch Monday.

Hoenisch is the wife of former Marathon County Sheriff Randy Hoenisch. She pleaded no contest to charges of misconduct in public office, burglary, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of a drug without a prescription.

Daily Herald Media reports Kim Hoenisch asked the judge to consider a jail sentence with work- and child care-release privileges. She said her actions were the result of an addiction to painkillers that stemmed from multiple knee surgeries and a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder.
