Fire shuts down two blocks of Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis

Metro Transit bus route 5 is on detour due to a fire on Chicago Avenue.

Firefighters are battling a blaze on the 2500 block of Chicago Avenue S. believed to be at the Chicago Avenue Food and Deli.

Chicago Avenue between 24th and 26th Streets are closed. Park Avenue is a decent alternate.

Metro Transit Route 5 is on detour until further notice. Northboud buses will travel to 26th Street, the left on 26th, right on Park Avenue, and right on 24th back to Chicago Avenue.

Southbound will turn left on 24th Street, then right on 10th Avenue, right on 26th Street and then back to Chicago Avenue.
