Flames spread from one garage to another early Sunday in a residential block of north Minneapolis, and investigators suspect the blaze was intentionally set.

Fire crews were first called to a garage fire in the 4300 block of Logan Avenue N. about 2 a.m., said Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Tyner.

Upon arrival, the firefighters saw two garages "fully involved" in flames and a third garage burning, Tyner said.

"The fire ultimately spread to four garages before it was brought under control," he said. Two vehicles were also destroyed by the flames.

One firefighter suffered an injury, received medical treatment at a hospital and was released, the assistant chief said.

"The cause of this fire has been determined to be intentional and as such is being investigated as arson," Tyner said.
