Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie will receive $1.8 million in federal economic stimulus funds to build a taxiway for the longer runway at the airport, the U.S. Department of Transportation reported Wednesday.

The suburban reliever airport is in the midst of a multimillion-dollar runway expansion.

Its north parallel runway has already been extended by 300 feet to 3,900 feet. Its south parallel runway is scheduled to be lengthened by 1,220 feet to 5,000 feet by the end of this year.
