Brutaal Presents: All-American Cage Fights

Mixed martial arts has exploded in popularity over the past decade. The reason: There's a barbaric thrill in watching dudes getting rocked in the face. Now say those same dudes are trapped in a cage -- even better! It's that simple. Combining boxing, wrestling, kickboxing and other techniques, MMA toes the line between sport and snuff film. Tonight brings weight class-spanning fighters to Myth, including Marsell McCullough, Nick Porras, Kyle Todd, DeAngelo Curtis and Steve Shaw. Expect upwards of 12 bouts and bloodlust aplenty.

Vita.mn Hotness Party

The formula is simple. Take a cocktail party with an old-world European vibe, toss in the steamiest Twin Citians and accent it with primo entertainment. That's the idea behind Vita.mn's fourth annual Hotness Party, a swank soirée that celebrates the 12 finalists in our 2012 Hotness contest. Eleven-member gypsy-tooters the Brass Messengers headline, with jazzy quartet Twin Cities Hot Club and cabaret act Dreamland Faces rounding out the bill. Expect burlesque performances, freebies and other surprises. You have no excuse: A Facebook RSVP waives the cover. Contest winners will be revealed in the next day's issue.
