Active ingredient can cause severe burns to skin.

A product marketed as a treatment for warts and moles is being recalled after the product burned the skin of at least one customer, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced last week. Nature Relief Instant Wart and Mole Remover was only sold online directly to consumers by Nature Relief. The FDA says the active ingredient, calcium oxide, can cause severe burns, especially if applied to thin or sensitive skin, and customers should put the product in a plastic bag and throw it away. The FDA also advises that moles, which can be cancerous, be examined by a doctor. For more information, call 888-646-6399. Adverse reactions to the product should be reported to the FDA at 800-332-1088. Read the full recall here.
