The same man is suspected in a bank robbery Monday morning in Bloomington and another a couple days earlier in Fargo, authorities said.

The latest holdup occurred about 8:45 a.m. at a U.S. Bank branch at 9633 Lyndale Av. S., according to the FBI.

The suspect passed a note to a teller that demanded cash. He received an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

Shortly after 10 a.m. on Dec. 31 in Fargo, the Bank of the West on 32nd Avenue S. was held up in a similar fashion, according to the FBI.

Surveillance images from both robberies strongly indicate the same man is responsible. Along with having the same facial and hair characteristics, the suspect in each holdup is wearing a black leather jacket.

The FBI described the man as 35 to 40 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds. The FBI said the Bloomington robber was white, while a security official in the Fargo robbery told the FBI that the suspect in the New Year's Eve robbery was "possibly Pacific islander."

Anyone with information about either robbery is urged to contact the FBI at 612-376-3200.
