Favre nominated for weekly honor

The quarterback's career-high passing day puts him in the mix for an award on which fans can vote.

Brett Favre's career-high 446-yard passing day in the Vikings' 27-24 overtime victory over Arizona on Sunday has earned him a nomination to be the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week.

Favre completed 36 of 47 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions. However, he really got on track late in the game and led the Vikings back from a 14-point deficit with less than five minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Also nominated are the Giants' Eli Manning and the Chargers' Philip Rivers.

Manning completed 21 of 32 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants' 41-7 vicotry over the Seattle Seahawks. Rivers completed 17 of 23 passes for 295 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in the Chargers' 29-23 victory over the Houston Texans.
