Brett Favre proved Monday that he can't be ruled out of a game -- even if he has been ruled out of a game.
Favre must pass concussion test
The Vikings will prepare this week as if Joe Webb will start on Sunday night.

So far be it from Access Vikings to say Favre won't be the starting quarterback Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. That being said, it's not looking really good for the veteran.
Already dealing with an injury to his throwing arm, Favre suffered a concussion Monday in the second quarter against the Bears when he was thrown to the turf on a sack. That means Favre is going to have to pass a concussion test before he's allowed to get back on the field.
He will take part of that test today, according to coach Leslie Frazier. "It will just be a day-to-day situation," Frazier said. "If he gets cleared by our doctors then things will change, but until he's cleared there isn't much that can be done other than whatever the doctors recommend."
Favre did not conduct his mid-week news conference for the first time this season.
Joe Webb will take the reps with the first team today, with Patrick Ramsey as the backup and newcomer Rhett Bomar as the No. 3.
"That's how we'll approach it and that's what we explained to Joe," Frazier said when asked if preparations would go forward as if Favre won't play. "You have to take the reps and prepare to start and if for some reason things change then we'll alert you but right now in his mind he's prepared to start." Asked if Bomar was signed off the Giants practice squad this week as a move for next season, Frazier said: "We needed a live arm, a guy who we thought could come in and maybe in an emergency give us a little bit more than we were getting otherwise. Not knowing what Brett's situation is going to be from day-to-day or week-to-week with the games we have remaining. But also to maybe take a look at him for the future, so it's a combination of the two. We think he has the ability in an emergency situation to maybe help us out, but also we'll look at him for the future." Peterson sitting out Running back Adrian Peterson, whose streak of 53 consecutive games ended Monday, is not practicing today because of a thigh bruise suffered on Dec. 13 against the Giants when he collided with quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. Peterson did not practice on Thursday or Friday last week and did limited work on Saturday. Frazier said Peterson's leg remains, "very, very sore," and that he is still having lots of pain that "makes it difficult to turn, twist and do the things Adrian Peterson does." "If he's healthy and able to play he will play," Frazier said when asked if Peterson would be held out again Sunday. "But it's like Monday night. We're not going to put him at risk if he's not able to perform and protect himself and do the things he has to do. We'll monitor it and just see how he moves along as the week goes along." Also not practicing today are Favre and safeties Madieu Williams (concussion) and Tyrell Johnson (knee). Etc.
- Bomar is wearing No. 3 for the Vikings.
- Cornerback DeAndre Wright has been signed back to the Vikings practice squad. Looks like Todd Archer won't be back on the practice squad once he gets through waivers.
