Favre: 'I would love to go beat the Saints'

Favre offers another indication that he will return for 20th season

June 24, 2010 at 9:35PM

Al Jones of the Biloxi Sun Herald has become a close friend of Brett Favre over the years and he had another interview with the Vikings quarterback on Thursday morning.

In this story posted online, Favre told Jones that "I would love to go beat the Saints. I know I can still play at a high level. Last year was a great year, but it could have been better (winning NFC Championship)."

The brief story -- Jones will have a full story from his interview on Friday -- says Favre hasn't ruled out returning this season and that he is riding a bike 8 miles as part of his rehab from ankle surgery. Favre told Jones that his rehab is on schedule.

Almost everyone expects Favre to play this season and this story is just more proof of that.
