Father and infant daughter killed in crash in Dakota County

A father and his year-old daughter were killed Monday after their sport-utility vehicle collided with a semitrailer truck in southern Dakota County, authorities said.

The wreck occurred about 11:25 a.m. near Hwy. 56 and 280th Street just northeast of Randolph, according to the State Patrol.

The driver, Jason M. Calderara, 31, of Cannon Falls, Minn., and Melody P. Calderara, 1, died; passenger Elizabeth Calderara, 26, and Nicholas Calderara, 9, were seriously injured, the patrol said.

The driver of the semi, a 71-year-old man from Faribault, Minn., also survived.
