Fatal crash reported in Benton County

At least one person died early Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Benton County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash happened at 7:21 a.m. when a semitrailer truck headed south on Hwy. 10 rear-ended a Dodge Caravan stopped at red light at E. St. Germain Street, in northeastern St. Cloud.

In its initial report on the crash, patrol identified one of three in the van, passenger Marche Daniel Price, 24, of New Hope, who was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with critical injuries. Price was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Conditions of the van driver, a 66-year-old man from Sartell, and passenger, a 22-year-old woman from Big Lake, Minn., have not yet been released.

The semi driver, James Delbert Cockram, 61, of Owatonna, Minn., was not hurt, the patrol said.
