A fatal rollover accident was reported Sunday night on Interstate 35 near Elko New Market, the State Patrol said.
The accident occurred about 8:15 p.m. at County Road 62 amid icy road conditions.
Additional details were not available.
Spinouts and crashes also were reported elsewhere in the metro area after a light snowfall.
About 9:30 p.m., the National Weather Service reported that the snow was tapering off but that roads were slick, and it advised motorists to slow down.
The state Department of Transportation reported about 25 crashes and spinouts on metro roadways between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
The frequency of the crashes had slowed as of 10:30 p.m.
