The annual Jewelry Mart is a great opportunity to view artfully designed accessories. Along with 17 homegrown talents such as Helen Wang, Tia Keobounpheng and Bridget Clark, there's a smattering of national and international jewelers. Standouts include Jennifer Merchant's bold line of bracelets, earrings, rings and necklaces made from acrylic, Swarovski crystals and magazine print; delicate yet modern jewelry by Annika Kaplan; and the colorful, Scandinavian-inspired Taki Watches.

The Bryn Mawr neighborhood just welcomed a new home and gift shop, Honeyshine. Styled after Brooklyn's design-focused vintage shops, the store offers a quirky mix of vintage and modern merchandise from smaller designers, including local art by DC Ice, cheery kitchenware, printed pillows and whimsical jewelry. The store also offers interior design services. It celebrates its grand opening this weekend with 10 percent off everything.
