Robinson on LuxeYard

Robyne Robinson's line of ROX Jewelry has been picked up by LuxeYard.com. Like Gilt, LuxeYard is basically a members-only e-retailer that sells high-end home decor, jewelry, clothing and furniture at a discount, differing from the rest by incorporating a concierge service. The TV-news-anchor-turned-jewelry-designer is offering some of her boldest, most colorful one-of-a-kind, handmade pieces on the site, ranging from a stunning necklace of antique coconut, dyed horn, glass and bone for $430 to earrings of tourmaline and vintage coins for $25.

Jennifer Merchant trunk show

Metalsmith Jennifer Merchant was looking for an affordable alternative to jewelry making, and found it in magazines -- literally. Using her own method of layering magazine clippings with clear acrylic and rhinestone gems, Merchant developed a bold, colorful and eclectic look. It's jewelry's answer to collage art, so it's fitting that her work is being sold in a gallery setting Saturday. Merchant will show off her latest collection of necklaces, earrings and stackable bracelets and rings at a trunk show at St. Paul's Grand Hand Gallery.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
