Karrie Brekke

31, biology assistant What are you wearing? A coat from Via's Vintage and jeans from Savers.

What is jug-band style? Eclectic, real, unaffected.

A lot of jug-band instruments are hand-made; do you make any of your clothes? Absolutely, since I was little -- flannel shirts safety-pinned to make skirts, etc.

What's your favorite instrument? The washboard.

Kim Roe

32, child-care teacher What are you wearing? Overalls from my grandpa and a bag from Trailfitters in Duluth.

What is jug-band style? Old-timey greatness.

Do you make any of your clothes? No.

What's your favorite instrument? I play the washboard--so that, and the kazoo.

Peter Seifert

Ageless, jug band devotee and research scientist What are you wearing? A suit bought a long time ago off the rack at an Italian discount place.

Do you make any of your clothes? No.

What is jug-band style? Traditionally '20s and '30s style.

What's your favorite instrument? I play the jug and harmonica, so I like those best.

Suzy Q. Kangaroo

43, student What are you wearing? A skirt from Global Village, beads from Mardi Gras, a necklace and hat from Duluth, and a shawl that was a gift from my mother.

Do you make any of your clothes? Yes.

What is jug-band style? Funky, eclectic, hippy, with a jug.

What's your favorite instrument? The electric shovel I saw last year takes the freakin' cake.
