New jewelry line

Right on time for the moody, decidedly dark trends for fall, Cliché has begun carrying the much-buzzed-about line by New York jewelry designer Erica Weiner. The Victorian-inspired necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings -- celebrated for their mix of natural objects (bone, wood), antique pieces (coins, lockets) and vintage-inspired looks -- have been written up everywhere from Lucky magazine to Teen Vogue. The self-taught Vassar girl says she prides herself on making beautiful and unique jewelry that is also affordable. The collection is going fast at Cliché, but St. Paul gift shop Quince also carries a good selection of the line ($28-$54).

    Urban Junket sample sale

The proprietors behind the locally based luxury handbag line Urban Junket are holding their semiannual sale and calling it their biggest ever. The functional yet stylish bags, handmade from couture-quality Italian leather, will be slashed 40 to 75 percent off retail (normally $200 to $900). That's a killer deal. The sale was timed to coincide with the Republican National Convention, so you may have to fight it out with well-heeled Republicans.
