Primp opens

The creators of local handbag line Rapport are on to a new endeavor: a cheap-chic clothing boutique. Owners Michele Henry and Wesley Uthus founded Primp for the "fashion-forward woman on a budget." They say everything will be less than $100 (with most items less than $50). Students get 10 percent off everything, all the time (with ID). Head to Thursday's grand opening for a first look at the merch.

    MNfashion Week begins

Our local version of fall Fashion Week officially kicks off Tuesday, but things really heat up next Thursday. Joy Teiken has been creating vintage-inspired confections for a decade under her label Joynoelle. She'll debut her spring 2011 collection -- recently featured in Women's Wear Daily -- on the runway at International Market Square.

Also next Thursday will be the second edition of Cliché's "Crosswalk" show, showcasing fall lines from Tender Cuts, Kathryn V. and Niki English on models using the Lyndale Av. crosswalk as a runway.
