A 70-year-old Farmington man with serious health conditions has been missing for as much as a couple of weeks from his retirement community, Farmington police said Saturday.

The man, Martin Stanich, lives at Vermillion River Crossing at the corner of Dushane Parkway and Spruce Street in Farmington. People there say they haven't seen him in two to three weeks, said Farmington Patrol Sgt. Bob Sauter.

His vehicle is also missing — a 2005 Mercury Montego, Minnesota license plate number 112-UNV.

Police did a welfare check on Friday morning and put out a missing-person alert, Sauter said.

Stanich is white, heavyset, and wears eyeglasses, said Jared Morton of Lakeville, who knows Stanich from church. He has a heart issue, Morton added.

The daughter of the person who has power of attorney over Stanich says she saw him on Aug. 30, Sauter said.
