Saturday: Shoppers at the Minneapolis Farmers Market will have a demonstration double-header. First up is Croatian cooking teacher Dunja Gulin, who will offer the secrets to preparing a wild rice salad with a Mediterranean-inspired vinaigrette (9:30 a.m.), then Liz McMann of Mississippi Market Co-op will discuss canning locally grown produce (10:30 a.m.). in St. Paul.

Saturday: Celebrate the Mill City Farmers Market's fifth birthday with a series of events, including free samples of "Natural Appletinis" (made with Minnesota-produced Prairie Organic Vodka) at the market's sponsor booth (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), and a baking demonstration by Spoonriver's Heather Hartman (10 a.m.)
