A farmer was dragged to his death by a farm implement in western Minnesota, and his body was found after sunrise the next day, authorities said.

Steven J. Anderson, 58, of Farwell, was working with a chisel plow on Saturday in in Moe Township, west of Alexandria, where the equipment drove over and dragged him, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

A call to 911 about 7:40 a.m. on Sunday reported that Anderson, who was working alone, had not returned home the previous night.

His body has been taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in Anoka County and the incident remains under investigation.
