On the hunt

Easter is near, which means a wily bunny has planted real and plastic eggs throughout the Twin Cities and beyond for kids to find. The annual Community Egg Hunt in Excelsior has hunts for four different age groups among ages 0-11. Meet Sparky the Fire Dog and members of the Excelsior Fire Department. There will also be puppet shows and prizes. (10 a.m. today. Free. Commons Park, Lake and W. Lake streets, Excelsior. oslcs.org.) Minneapolis Parks hosts a hopping good time with egg hunts around the city. Fill up with pancakes at the Bunny Brunch at Sibley Recreation Center, then sleuth for eggs. Other area parks also host spring-themed activities, face painting and more along with their egg hunts. (For times and locations go to minneapolisparks.org.) The eggs roll old-school style at the Landing. Play games popular during the 1800s, such as an egg roll and egg and spoon racing. (10 a.m.-2 p.m. today. $5-$8. The Landing, 2187 E. Hwy. 101, Shakopee. threeriversparkdistrict.org.)
