The science of sports

The Science Museum of Minnesota has opened a new exhibit gallery for visitors with athletes in mind. "Sportsology" explores the science of how the human body meets the demands of sporting activities. In the Motion Lab, kick a goal or throw a football and replay your video to analyze your movements and compare them with those of professional athletes. Think you could beat a T-Rex in a race? The "Born to Run" component allows guests to see if they can best the prehistoric giant or even the Minnesota Twins mascot, T.C. Bear. (9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. today-Sat. 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sun. $12.95-$18.95. 120 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. 651-221-9444. smm.org)
