Family fun: Snow Day at Three Rivers Parks

There is no shortage of snow outside, so Three Rivers Park District is making the most out of multi-foot drifts by hosting a Free Play Snow Day. For the whole day, take advantage of free equipment rental. Daily pass fees for cross-country skiing and off-leash dog areas are also waived for the day. Get free mini lessons for classic or skate-style skiing. Hyland Hills Ski Area offers $5 off an all-day lift ticket. Ride down the slopes with two-for-one tubing, skiing and snowboarding at Elm Creek Winter Recreation area. (9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat.
