Familiar name, new nightclub

The sequel to 414 Soundbar opens Friday night in the old Visage space. It's now called 400 Soundbar and twice the size.

There were aerialists in the rafters, fish in the VIP booths and a half-naked guy with sushi on his chest. Just by the look of it Thursday night, you could definitely tell this was Johann Sfaellos' club.

Five months after his 414 Soundbar closed, Sfaellos opened its sequel -- 400 Soundbar -- last night with an invite-only party in downtown Minneapolis. Located in the old Visage space (400 3rd Av. N.), it's twice the size but features many of Sfaellos' familiar idiosyncratic tendencies.

The club opens to the public Friday. Here's what you'll find. There are three rooms. One is basked in red hues and carries a heavy Asian influence. Another features some fun, gaudy Russian artwork. In the main room, high-rollers have their choice from nine oversized VIP booths. As usual, Johann and partner Enrique Delgado are mixing the DJ music with an assortment of live instrumentalists, including sax players, drummers and violinists.
