Fall Back Next Sunday

November 1, 2010 at 7:25PM

Standard time will become official early next Sunday morning, Nov. 7, acrossthe vast majority of the nation that adheres to Daylight Saving Time during thewarmer months. The official shift will take place at 2 a.m., local time, when time will "fallback" one hour to 1 a.m.

For most people, the best way to ease into the new time regimen would be tomake the adjustment to clocks before sleeping on Saturday night.

It may even be seen as an opportunity to get back that hour of sleep lost in"springing forward" last March.

States and territories not observing Daylight Saving Time, and therefore notneeding to shift clocks, include most or all of Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and American Samoa.

Nov. 7 also marks the end of Daylight Saving Time in Canada and Mexico.
