PARIS – Halle Berry married her fiancé, French actor Olivier Martinez, in a weekend ceremony in a village church in France's Burgundy region.

The owner of the Château de Vallery, where the couple stayed with their 60 guests, said on Sunday that the betrothal a day earlier ended with a dinner and an unusual fireworks display — of water, fire and snow — in the château gardens. A wedding cake followed.

Patrice Vansteenberghe said the actress — 46 and pregnant — and her 47-year-old husband "were very beautiful and very happy."

Vansteenberghe would not say who attended the gala wedding. But he said the bride was coy about her long, white dress, wanting to keep it from public view. "All I can say is that it was a dress with a deeply plunging back," Vansteenberghe said. He added that the event was "confidential" because "she wanted to be left alone on the day of her marriage."

Bollywood icon Pran passes away at 93

India's legendary actor Pran, who played some of Bollywood's most memorable villains in a career that spanned 60 years, died of pneumonia at a Mumbai hospital Friday. He was 93. Pran acted in more than 350 Hindi movies in a prolific career dating back to the 1940s. He played a vast range of roles — a hero, villain and character actor — but was best known for his bad guys, earning the honorific "Villain of the Millennium." Pran Krishan Sikand was hospitalized more than two weeks ago. "Indian cinema has lost an icon," tweeted Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

no joke: Jimmy Kimmel married his fiancée, Molly McNearney, in a lavish ceremony Saturday in a quaint hill town high above Santa Barbara, Calif. According to People magazine, invitations requested that guests make a charitable donation in lieu of wedding gifts. The couple have been together since October 2011 and got engaged last August. She is the head writer on his chat show, Jimmy Kimmel Live. They were joined by 300 guests, including Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner; Matt Damon and wife Luciana; Jennifer Aniston and fiance Justin Theroux; Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia De Rossi, and Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski.
